CNN is one of the world’s most beloved news networks, providing breaking updates and in-depth reporting from a range of topics such as politics, business, health care and more.
Last summer, cnn live stream News chief Chris Licht was hired to oversee its programming. This could signal a change of direction for the channel and potential recalibrating of its on-air talent.
1. New Day
CNN is looking to rejuvenate their morning program with a new trio of hosts. Co-anchors Don Lemon, Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins will debut the program that seeks to distinguish itself from rivals Fox & Friends and MSNBC’s Morning Joe by focusing on news stories instead of political commentary.
Chris Licht, CNN Worldwide Chairman, has made it his mission to change the network’s reputation for being hostile toward President Donald Trump. To that end, he appointed Ryan Kadro – who succeeded him as executive producer of CBS’ Mornings – to help reimagine CNN’s morning hours.
2. The Situation Room
The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer is a daily newscast broadcast on CNN that debuted August 8, 2005 and airs weekdays from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm ET.
The show features a number of esteemed CNN journalists. Most recently, executive producer Emily Atkinson joined the team, having worked alongside Blitzer for 17 years.
3. The Lead
CNN chief Washington correspondent Jake Tapper hosts this afternoon program that covers all of the day’s top news headlines from around the world. Additionally, it aims to bring under-the-radar stories to light.
This week, The Lead featured an intense interview with White House economic adviser Brian Deese that came to a sudden end when Tapper’s camera fell over during the conversation.
Chris Licht, the new CNN president, is seeking to overhaul how he runs the network by giving show leaders more autonomy in making decisions without waiting for his approval. Additionally, he wants to cover more non-politics stories such as business, technology and sports.
4. The Breaking News
CNN is one of the world’s premier news organizations, providing live coverage and exclusive content from around the world. You can watch it online or on any television platform you prefer; plus, many apps allow for personalized viewing experiences.
The network’s latest feature, which has earned plenty of praise, is the sleek “Breaking News” widget. This marks an important advancement for a network that has struggled to stay ahead of its competition. CEO Chris Licht believes this move will help the struggling telco return to mainstream acceptance.
5. The Take
The Take is an hour-long show that covers politics, business and entertainment. It offers a refreshing change from traditional news channels, but that doesn’t make it any less valuable.
It’s one of the few shows on the network to air during primetime, and it offers plenty of content. If you want to watch it live, DIRECTV STREAM or Sling TV offer free trials. Those looking for on-demand options should try Hulu + Live TV which currently offers a free trial for new customers. You could also try YouTube TV or fuboTV without charge as well.
6. World News
CNN is one of the world’s largest news organisations, with correspondents and bureaus situated around the world. They ensure you always stay informed on all the major headlines – like a coronavirus outbreak or Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – no matter where it happens.
The network’s primary program is New Day, but there are also a variety of other shows. These range from political debate to medical news and can be found across multiple platforms.
